What goes in
- 3 lb bone-in skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar 路 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Stir in at the end
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp cold water
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds 路 2 spring onions, sliced
How to make it
- Whisk the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, vinegar, ginger and pepper together in a jug.
- Lay the thighs in the pot and pour the sauce over, turning them once so they are coated. Lid on.
- Low 5 hours or high 3 hours.
- Lift the thighs onto a plate. Turn the pot to high.
- Whisk the cornstarch into the cold water and stir it into the sauce. 10 minutes uncovered until it is thick enough to cling.
- Spoon the sauce back over the thighs and finish with sesame seeds and spring onion.
Swap it
Boneless thighs cook in 4 hours on low. Swap the honey for maple syrup if that is what is open.
