What goes in
- 2 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 3/4 cup buffalo wing sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder 路 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Stir in at the end
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce, held back
- 12 slider buns
- blue cheese or ranch dressing and celery sticks, to serve
Butter at the end
Butter whisked in off the heat is what gives wing sauce its gloss and takes the raw edge off the vinegar. Added at the start it just separates.
How to make it
- Put the chicken in the pot. Add the wing sauce, broth, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder and pepper. Lid on.
- Low 5 hours or high 3 hours.
- Shred in the pot with two forks.
- Drain off about half the liquid or the sliders will fall apart.
- Stir the butter and the reserved wing sauce through until the butter melts and the sauce goes glossy.
- Spoon onto slider buns and serve with dressing and celery.
Swap it
Thighs work and stay juicier. Half the wing sauce and a spoon of honey makes a version the kids will touch.
